So here are some questions that get asked frequently (or maybe not-so-frequently but are generally included in FAQs for blogs of this nature). I hope this clears some stuff up! 

Q: Did you make the meme?

A: No. http://foreheadtittaes.tumblr.com/ did. I did, however, make the Science Newbie Mouse. 

Q: What happened to the original Science Major Mouse page?

A: Not a clue. The mod from that page probably just got too busy with her own life to mod a blog like scimajormouse. This page is in no way affiliated with the original fyeahsciencemajormouse blog. However, if that blog starts being active again, I will stop posting on this one. I check the original blog regularly just to make sure I’m not stealing anyone’s turf.  

Q: What kind of science do you accept here?

A: Pretty much, anything goes. I’ve seen stuff ranging from programming/computer science to pharmacy to zoology on here. Math majors have the Math Major Sloth meme and blog, and I believe that engineering majors have their own blog with a bat as their animal. 

Q: How long does it take for pictures to get posted?

A: Depends on how long the queue is. Sometimes, things get posted within a few hours or even sooner, and other times, it may take around 4 days. 

Q: How many images do you post every day?

A: The queue is usually posting between 3 and 7 images per day, depending on how many items I have in it. If I have more items in the queue, I feel comfortable posting 7 a day. If I only have 5 or 6 images queued, I’ll usually be more careful and only post 3 a day until I get more. Sometimes, I’ll not have any to post, but that’s thankfully becoming pretty rare with all of the enthusiastic followers.

Q: How many people mod this blog?

A: One. 

Q: Can I become a mod?

A: No. Right now modding is pretty manageable. If I ever need help modding it, I’ll make an announcement stating so.

Q: I have a cool idea for a Science Major Mouse image! Can you make it for me? 

A: Sorry, the answer to that is usually no. If the meme generators I have linked to are down, shoot me a message and I’ll link to a working one. If they’re working for me but your computer for some reason doesn’t show them properly, or you have some other accessibility issues when it comes to the generators or image-editing programs, send me a message and I’ll be willing to make the image for you. But otherwise, you have to make it yourself and send me the image or at least the link to it. 

Q: I found an image here that I found offensive! What should I do? 

A: Send me a message in my ask box and I’ll review it and see if it should be taken down. What you shouldn’t do is send personal attacks (to either me or the person who submitted it). I’m willing to work with you, and have taken down problematic images in the past. Odds are that the person who submitted the problematic image was imagining the wording to be read differently and never thought it could be considered problematic, so don’t just sit around and bash them. 

Q: My image wasn’t posted. Why? 

A: Some other fyeah blogs on Tumblr have reported their submissions being “lost in the mail” or “eaten” by either the submissions system or the queue. This may be possible. If yours hasn’t been posted in a few days, resend it. Another possibility is that I found it offensive or potentially problematic. If after you send it for the second time, it hasn’t been posted, that’s probably why. Also, sometimes I get huge booms of submissions and it does take a few days (4 max) to post them all. 

Q: What kinds of images do you find offensive or problematic? 

A: Anything that attacks or mocks a certain group (like certain races, gay people, trans*people, disabled people, women, whole religions, etc etc etc) is obviously not allowed. Lighthearted jokes about stereotypes of other majors are okay, but images that flat-out bash other majors are just bashing other majors. Remember, it’s only a joke if it’s funny. Also, of course, anything using some sort of slur won’t be posted. Profanity is okay, just don’t overdo it. 

Q: Can you show more of [insert discipline here]/less of [insert discipline here]? It’s kind of annoying seeing so little/so much [discipline] here. 

A: If you want it, you have to make it happen. If you have a joke or an experience to share, head over to the meme generator and send me your image! 

Q: Why can I submit quotes and videos? What’s the point of that?

A: While this is fysciencemajormouse, if you have any funny science-related videos (or quotes that can’t really be meme-ified) that you want to submit, go for it. Likewise, if you have any images that are funny and science-related that aren’t mouse memes, send them in! 

Q: I have an idea for a new type of science major mouse (like the science newbie mouse). What should I do? 

A: Send me a message in the ask, chat, and answer! If I think it’ll take off, I’ll use that idea. So whether you want a Science Professor Mouse or a Science Major Mousette or whatever, send me the idea and I’ll ask the rest of the followers what they think, and if they like the idea, I’ll make it happen! 

Q: I have a science-related question. Can you answer it?

A: While I personally am still a bit of a science newbie, I can try my best to answer it and then open it up for followers to answer. The followers have been really helpful in the past when it comes to answering other followers’ questions!
